Book Series #3 – Splinter

Book Series #3 – Splinter

This book is called ‘Splitter’ in German and ‘Splinter’ in English. I had no expectations to this book, as I didn’t know the author and my best friend wasn’t too convinced about it.

The book is about a man called Marc Lucas whose life seems to be totally out of control, he thinks that he’s crazy because nothing is like he knows it. All of his keys don’t fit anymore so he can’t get into his flat, his office, his car – nothing works. He also sees his dead wife which is not possible obviously, because she had died in a car accident. Really strange things happen to him and he starts to see a psychiatrist who also confirms his theories. After a while things get resolved and we get to know the whole story and the reasons why all these things happened and why he might not be crazy after all. Read more!

Madame Tussauds, Berlin

Madame Tussauds, Berlin

Madame Tussauds is a wax museum, which can be found in different cities, whose founder was Marie Tussaud. She opened her first museum in 1835 in London and to this date there are 23 other museums who are constantly being extended.

(the left one is Marie Tussaud herself)

I believe I’ve been three times at the Madame Tussauds in Berlin. The waiting time was ok, I would recommend to book the tickets online beforehand. You then get a priority entrance for the time frame you chose. You also get discounts when booking online especially when you want to visit other attractions like Sea Life or the Berlin Dungeon as well. Read more!

Spring Flower Wreath DIY

Spring Flower Wreath DIY

This is an idea I found on the Blog Project Inspired through Pinterest. I thought it would be such a nice craft for spring time.

collage-2

First I cut out my wreath of cardboard, of an old delivery box, in the size that I thought would be best. Mine has a radius of approximately 28cm. After that I started to stick the flowers on as I liked them best. Read more!

Berlin Dungeon

Berlin Dungeon

(Unfortunately we weren’t allowed to take pictures on the inside)

I’ve always wanted to go to one of the Dungeons and at my third visit of Berlin we finally also went to the Berlin Dungeon.

For those of you who don’t know the concept of the Berlin Dungeon, I’m going to explain it quickly. The Dungeon is a house where the interior is built with the scenery of the story being told. In this case it is the ancient story of Berlin. Especially the scary parts of it. You enter the story with a group and a narrator and get to know the different stories along the way in the different rooms, with different actors. Read more!

H10 Ku’damm Hotel, Berlin

H10 Ku’damm Hotel, Berlin

The hotel is very large and modern. It is located near a metro station, which makes it very comfortable and easy to travel through Berlin.
Our room was very nice, clean, modern, and it was absolutely quiet! We couldn’t hear anything from outside our room, neither from inside the hotel nor from the street.

The hotel is approximately 20 minutes away from the Brandenburger Tor by metro, and it is very easy to walk to the Kurfürstendamm which is the main street in Berlin for shopping and gastronomy. Read more!

Three restaurants in Prague

Three restaurants in Prague

Nostress Cafe Restaurant

The Nostress Cafe Restaurant is a bit outside the town square but still very good to be reached by foot. The restaurant itself is very elegant which I liked, the waiters were very friendly and attentive, and the restaurant was very clean.
I didn’t like the starter and main course very much to be honest, but I really enjoyed the dessert. The people who were there with me liked the food very much, though. So it might just be my taste.
I personally wouldn’t go there another time probably.

Oliva Verde Ristorante

The restaurant has a perfect location in front of the astronomic clock right on the town square. We had drinks there on one evening and then lunch the next day. Read more!

Book series #2 – Talking as fast as I can

Book series #2 – Talking as fast as I can

I finished Lauren Grahams book ‘Talking as fast as I can’. It was my first memoir type of book I have read, and I must say that I really enjoyed reading it, because in my head I could hear Lauren’s voice say those words to me. I liked how everything was in the right order starting with her childhood and her becoming an actress, as it usually seems as if actors had an easy path and had their career handed to them as children. I liked reading how she found the motivation to keep trying to become a successful actress also in difficult stages of her career. Read more!
