(Unfortunately we weren’t allowed to take pictures on the inside)
I’ve always wanted to go to one of the Dungeons and at my third visit of Berlin we finally also went to the Berlin Dungeon.
For those of you who don’t know the concept of the Berlin Dungeon, I’m going to explain it quickly. The Dungeon is a house where the interior is built with the scenery of the story being told. In this case it is the ancient story of Berlin. Especially the scary parts of it. You enter the story with a group and a narrator and get to know the different stories along the way in the different rooms, with different actors.
Our Dungeon visit was optimal, we didn’t have to wait at the beginning and could start our tour straight away.
Firstly, it was nice to get to know also some other history of the city than the usual things you are told on city tours. And then it was really scary sometimes, but luckily the actors are not allowed to touch the people. I would freak out otherwise! It was funny, how other people were scared, too, and not just me. It was very interesting, to learn history in this way. In each scenery also some people from the audience were called to the front to participate. I was very happy I wasn’t chosen, as we went in with a group of students, who all knew each other. I’m not the kind of person who likes to be ‘made fun of’ in front of strangers, also if it is just a game.
I definitely want to visit the other Dungeons, like the one in London or Hamburg, too.
A tip from me is, that if you visit other attractions in Berlin like Madame Tussauds as well, you can get discounts if you purchase the tickets together.
Have you ever been to a Dungeon or done something similar? Let me know in the comments.
Have a nice evening!
