Washington DC throwback

Washington DC throwback

Last year on the same visit in the USA when we went to Jacksonville, we also visited Washington DC. We got there by Bus and stayed in an Airbnb nearby to be flexible. Nearby is an understatement though, as we still had to walk very far to get everywhere, but it was nice. Unfortunately most of the pictures look sad, because the weather was really cold and rainy when we were there in December.

Causas

Causas is a Peruvian restaurant I went to with a friend and we decided to share a couple of starters rather than main courses so we could try more different things. So we had Anticuchitos de Pollo, Empanadas Fritas de Carne, Causa de Pollo and Yucas Fritas con Huancaina. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the Empanadas, but they and everything we ate was really yummy! I can definitely reccommend the food! Read more!

Romeo&Julia

I went to this place called ‘Romeo und Julia’ the other day with some friends, and I must say I wasn’t disappointed! First of all, the name is really sweet! This place offers egg-waffles with frozen yogurt and toppings. As I absolutely love frozen yogurt and also like waffles, I thought it would be a good idea to try these waffles! Read more!

Quest4exit – the time is running. Escape, if you can!

Last January, my boyfriend and me went to an escape room. It was a present for me as he knew, that this was something I would like to do! He found one near our hometown and it was amazing!

We got there and first we had to watch a video with all the rules and regulations, after which we filled out a short form that stated that we are liable for injuries or if we got scared. We were informed, that we were being monitored while being in the room for safety reasons and also to make it easier to help us if we got stuck. Read more!

1000 Places To See Before You Die

1000 Places To See Before You Die

1000 places to see before you die.jpg

I bought myself this book on amazon.

It’s basically a list for people who want to travel and don’t know what to see next or if they know they’re heading to one destination and want to see what else they might discover on that trip. So you can either use it as a help for traveling or that you actually want to try to see all of these places. Read more!

Würzburg, Germany

Würzburg, Germany

img_4207.jpg

We went to Würzburg last weekend and also went to the residence in town. We didn’t make a residence tour but a tour of the wine cellar, which was very interesting.

At first, because we had time, we had a walk through the park which is part of the residence. Although the current weather it was very nice, in summer however the park is full with flowers and really relaxing! (I’ve been there years ago) Read more!

ITB 2017, Berlin

This picture was taken, while the fair was still being prepared, that’s why there is still the outdoor decoration missing.

Last week I went, together with my friends, to the ITB, the world’s leading travel trade show, in Berlin. It was my second time on the ITB as a trade visitor. I already visited it last year with another friend.

Kleopatra Ramira Hotel, Alanya

Kleopatra Ramira Hotel, Alanya

I stayed in the Kleopatra Ramira Hotel in Alanya with my boyfriend two years ago. We stayed there for 7 nights and when we arrived there at night there was still someone at the reception and a door- and luggage man waiting for us, which was nice.

We choose this hotel, because we planned this trip quite spontaneously, so everything else in our budget was already completely booked. It was the best option for us and also from the pictures and reviews it seemed very nice. Read more!

Madame Tussauds, Berlin

Madame Tussauds, Berlin

Madame Tussauds is a wax museum, which can be found in different cities, whose founder was Marie Tussaud. She opened her first museum in 1835 in London and to this date there are 23 other museums who are constantly being extended.

(the left one is Marie Tussaud herself)

I believe I’ve been three times at the Madame Tussauds in Berlin. The waiting time was ok, I would recommend to book the tickets online beforehand. You then get a priority entrance for the time frame you chose. You also get discounts when booking online especially when you want to visit other attractions like Sea Life or the Berlin Dungeon as well. Read more!

Berlin Dungeon

Berlin Dungeon

(Unfortunately we weren’t allowed to take pictures on the inside)

I’ve always wanted to go to one of the Dungeons and at my third visit of Berlin we finally also went to the Berlin Dungeon.

For those of you who don’t know the concept of the Berlin Dungeon, I’m going to explain it quickly. The Dungeon is a house where the interior is built with the scenery of the story being told. In this case it is the ancient story of Berlin. Especially the scary parts of it. You enter the story with a group and a narrator and get to know the different stories along the way in the different rooms, with different actors. Read more!

H10 Ku’damm Hotel, Berlin

H10 Ku’damm Hotel, Berlin

The hotel is very large and modern. It is located near a metro station, which makes it very comfortable and easy to travel through Berlin.
Our room was very nice, clean, modern, and it was absolutely quiet! We couldn’t hear anything from outside our room, neither from inside the hotel nor from the street.

The hotel is approximately 20 minutes away from the Brandenburger Tor by metro, and it is very easy to walk to the Kurfürstendamm which is the main street in Berlin for shopping and gastronomy. Read more!

Three restaurants in Prague

Nostress Cafe Restaurant

The Nostress Cafe Restaurant is a bit outside the town square but still very good to be reached by foot. The restaurant itself is very elegant which I liked, the waiters were very friendly and attentive, and the restaurant was very clean.
I didn’t like the starter and main course very much to be honest, but I really enjoyed the dessert. The people who were there with me liked the food very much, though. So it might just be my taste.
I personally wouldn’t go there another time probably.

Oliva Verde Ristorante

The restaurant has a perfect location in front of the astronomic clock right on the town square. We had drinks there on one evening and then lunch the next day. Read more!

Schloss Linderhof, Ettal

Schloss Linderhof, Ettal

Schloss Linderhof was also built by Ludwig II and it is the only castle he finished and spent much time there. In my opinion it is very nice and I liked it more than Schloss Hohenschwangau personally.

img_0717

Linderhof is less a castle from the outside but rather a residence or a villa, with a nice park and a fountain in a lake which we couldn’t see because of the snow, but we knew was there. It is a very nice ‘smaller’ residence with the ground floor for the personnel and the first floor for himself. Read more!
